Is stormwater testing required?

Most states have mandated stormwater testing, monitoring, and remediation. The purpose of mandating regular stormwater testing is to identify, remove, and reduce contaminants, pollutants, fertilizers, and debris that otherwise flows freely over impervious surfaces (like rooftops, paved streets, highways, and parking lots) into our surface waters (lakes, rivers, oceans) and groundwater.

Stormwater runoff is a leading threat to our rivers, streambeds, banks, habitats, and urban waters.
